Blood Based Attributes

I have been given this question. "Blood analysis has been a pivotal part of forensic investigation. Discuss 3 blood based attributes that would have been used in the past as part of a forensic investigation and what use they currently have if any"

I really don't understand wheat it means by blood based attributes.

Can anyone help me out??
