good question !
by: ForensicMentor.com

Great question ! I think that some investigators may put too much of thier investigation on the forensic evidence. As a DNA analyst/Forensic Serologist the analysis that I do can help the investigation but is only one piece of the puzzle. Ability to commit the crime, physical location of the suspect, alibi time frames and motive are also important. However, if a suspect's body fluid is on a victim and can not be explained by consentual contact, it is vital to the investigation. I agree that perhaps some lazy investigators or prosecutors will let the DNA evidence lead the investigation when in fact, it should be in addition to the rest of the puzzle.
