Forensic Dentist

I'm interested in becoming a forensic dentist. I'm a senior in high school and getting ready to apply to a few colleges but I have a question. I was told you have to go to a 4 year college for forensic science and then go to dentistry school to become a forensic dentist. Is this true? If not, what should I do?
